Dragons and wolf pets.

I have not updated this place in a while, but I have been updating my 'journal' on my deviantart.

http://dragonicwolf.deviantart.com/

There are two things that I have posted there that i feel significant, so I will copy and paste them here if you have the patience to read such nonsense.

----------------------------------------
(This read was found somewhere I frequent, and it is supposed to be a description of dragons, in humans. )

Dragons

"So how do you define a dragon?" I was asked.

"Uh, er. Um." I did not answer. I didnt even attempt to answer, and swung the conversation elsewhere until such time as I could answer. Thats actually a question no ones ever asked me before. Unbelievable, I know. When conversation headed back in that direction I still didnt have an answer, but now I do.

"A dragon," I would have said, "is large and awesome and encompassing, so large it fits into the spaces between things and often is not noticed at all. It is dangerous, and aggressive. It breaths fire. It eats people. But it does not do this all or most of the time; it dwells on the potential of courses of action and that is, usually, enough.

Dragons know the truth about things. They frighten people. They frighten people by knowing the truth about things, and by not caring. Or by saying the truth you didnt want to hear, speaking fire at you and burning away the old things. You aren't afraid the dragon will eat you; you're afraid the dragon will notice you, judge you, and find you unworthy of their time. You're afraid the dragon will notice you at all.

The dragon's afraid you'll notice them. Often they would prefer not to be notice or bothered, but left alone so they may observe things from afar. They study things with a detached interest, often reluctant to interfere. They study things and detach them from the value system in a way that can be upsetting, for they do not place more inherent importance in people in preference to crickets. They sometimes fail to view themselves in the larger picture through a desire to be apart and alone and left alone, to be the impassive observer, in the scene but not an active element most of teh time. Unless a catalyst strikes. Actions may seem capricious, but often spring without apprarent warning from a firm base of prolonged thought. They are old. Very old, but they dont care much about this. Its years, things pass and change, but mostly stay the same within patterns.

Dragons know who they are and are so comfortable in this that they may seem arrogant, when really, they just know who and what they are and don't feel a need to seek external confirmation and reinforcement. They often operate outside the standard and accepted parameters of things because theyve judged the system and don't find it useful. Unuseful things (and people) are not respected, no matter how potent. This is part of a values-free philosophy...or rather, the nod to the idea that one should probably value their values rather than getting them as hand-me-downs.

Dragons are their own system. They are thus on the whole neither good nor evil, helpful nor uncaring, friendly or introverted. They are islands.

Dragons are small, medium, or large animals with a reptilian or mammalian or saurian or avian cast, who may or may not have wings, may or may not eat people, may or many not have an intrinsic alignment along an axis of good and evil, may or may not have an elemental affiliation, may or may not like knitting. Sometimes, dragons are lonely because of the people they successfully discourage, by being too honest about themselves and others, by never actually seeking contact, by being too big and arrogant and eating the neighbors dog.

Dragons are not aloof for the sake of being aloof; they are aloof for the sake of not stepping on people, but secretly, because theyre quite afraid of being stepped on. They want people to be without being interrupted, and want the same for themselves. Although...it is easier to observe and not be known. Not everyone can hurt them, but the right people can. The right an accurate people can hurt something big and intense because dragons are not perfect.

They are an archetype and a powerful one, but real dragons know that nothing is above the need to learn, nothing is above mistakes, and nothing is above the ability to be hurt. Dragons walk softly because of this. To hurt someone else is to possibly hurt yourself in the long-run. Consider it enlightened self-interest at the very least. Some of them are loud. Generally, dragons are not seen unless they wish to be seen. Some wish it more than others. Dragons like stuff. Some of them have manners; they always have manners but often tilted toward getting to the root of things and being honest. If they respect you. If not, all bets are off.

Dragons are prone to retreating into their own mental worlds, but this is not good for them. Dragons need friends too. They need new experiences, they need things to wake them up. They need people banging on gongs and reminding them to send the rain. Dragons are fierce and loyal and endless and eternal, and they are large, if not in shape than otherwise. Dragons are graceful and reachable and part of a mythos. Dragons are distant and cold and unreachable, for they encompass each a shard of the unknown, even to themselves.

Dragons all have something in common with other dragons, but they cannot say what it is. They dont know. They'll try to discuss it anyway, because they like to ponder, but they know that the thing they have in common with each other is visible only in small shared moments, and not visible in an attempt at a larger concept. Dragons have presence and inspire awe and fear and they have the ability to have no presence at all. They often walk silently. If you ask them to speak, they will. If you invite them, they will accept if they feel like it. And you might not like it, because they speak for the sake of whats being said, and may answer questions and take up offers that the host was unaware of making. If you ask them if they are godlike and perfect, the smart ones will say no, and the hearts of the unsmart ones will say no as well even if their minds say yes.

Dragons are a class of things, each unrelated to the next, but obviously part of a cohesive and sensible whole.

Dragons are about opposites and the containment thereof. They contain opposites by embodying dualities. They hold opposites within themselves comfortably, as part of themselves, and yet they exist. Perhaps this makes them grumpy at times, to balance so many things, to see that there may not be a one right answer but to understand the rightness of all the smaller answers.

Dragons understand two things: that change is necessary, and that preservation is necessary, and that nothing really ever changes.

Dragons challenge people. They dont eat them if they fail, but the feel sad and angry sometimes when too many of their challenges go unmet and unanswered. Asking questions is one modality of interacting with the world. They dont want to hurt people, even if their challenges and healing seem radical and aggressive and frightening. They want to share the one thing any dragon really treasures, which is information and ideas. They want to share it so that it might propagate, so that it will last and change and eventually come back to them. They want to watch the process but are sometimes afraid to be drawn into it. They sometimes are the process, at least by power of will, and do not exclude you from it but you would never think of sharing that space with them.

Dragons are vital and alive and grounded and ethereal and dualistic and whole and utterly touchable and enigmatic and frighteningly violent and gentle and perfect and flawed and aloof and arrogant and loving and charmingly shy and in need of friends.

That is what dragons are.

(Here is something I wrote on pet wolves.)

Im not sure if i have ranted about this before or not, but my foul mood about it has gotten out of hand.

On youtube one day I was randomly searching videos about animals, and I came across a video of some breeders wolf/dog hybrids. All the comments on the video I see are " IL GIVE ALL MY MONEY FOR ONE" " OMG SO CUTE I WANT ONE!" "WHERE CAN I GET ONE!? I <3>

And then, I made a very short comment saying

" I think keeping wolf of wolf dog hybrids is cruel"

I got alot of *thumbs down* on my comment and one dude swore at me saying:
"the wolves that are in captivity are in places they wont get hurt and are respected. I know someone who SAVED a wolf hybrid from being put down. So fuck you."

I want to get my opinion clear.

People are focusing so much on what THEY themselves see and think, that they forget about the feelings of the animal itself. To save a wolf or wolfdog is an honourable and respectable act, but to buy one from a breeder purposely breeding them as pets is a no go.

Why do people want a wolf and not a dog? Why would they rather have an animal that is difficult to control rather than an animal that is BRED to be mans best friend?Mainly, for self image. Alot of people who want a wolf as a pet are likely to be thinking that it is cool , superior and special. Humans tend to enjoy feeling different and/or superior. Also, people have this romantic notation of being in touch with the wild, to be so close and to live with a wild animal such as a wolf.

But what people dont think about is this.

Most of the wolves or wolfdogs which are bought as pets are VERY likely to be living in a total state of confusion, shock and insanity. Wolfdogs, they dont know whether to be a wolf or a dog.The owner, finding the wolf hard to control as it grows older, will eventually have to get rid of them.

Yes, some owners REALLY did their research before purchasing one, or so called "rescuing" one, and manage to keep their wolf/wolfdog happy and under control. But, this causes a chain reaction. Buying a wolf from a dealer will encourage the breeder to breed even MORE wolves for pets because it is a source of income. And , sadly this means that more and more wolf lives will be shattered, because the pups are just "too cute" to resist and people simply want a wolf for their own sake.

People... if you want to be in touch with a wolf so badly or love wolves so badly, go and visit them in a sanctuary or go hiking and see them in their natural environment. I know alot of people may be against me opinion, but this is possible the view from a wolf therians eyes. If people disagree with me, at least be more mature about it instead of going FUCK YOU!!

Ive ALSO noticed that 90% of the youtube videos with wolf or wolfdog pets, are all puppies. Hardly any adults. Could mean something can it!?

This thing has been a major bother to me for a long time, and it is very difficult to let it go.

---------------
So the final note I posted somewhere else.

wolfdogs are not domestic. In fact, they can be even more dangerous than pure wolves because they often live in a psychological mess, not knowing whether to be a wolf or a dog, to be a wild animal or mans best friend. Yes, some wolfdog pets have had 'seemingly' good lives , but how about the rest of the litter? They might have not been so lucky. The wolf and wolfdog reserve are already full of abandoned wolves and wolfdogs, why encourage the trade by buying more?

Additionally, people give the excuse that " Oh, it wont be a pet, it will be a companion". Hello, as long as the wolf is in your house, under your control, being fed by you, it IS counted as a pet. Dogs are also our companions , friends, and family. But they are STILL pets.

When one person buys a wolfdog and others see it, the other people will be wanting to get one as well. It causes a chain reaction. Are huskies or malamutes not good enough for people? Is the "look" what people really want rather than the lifelong relation with their dog? Why do people want an animal that is extremely demanding and difficult to handle rather than an animal that is MEANT to be man's four legged companion? Is it for the sake of vanity or the 'specialness' of it?

I think so, and that is why i highly discourage it.

Random

For some reason I felt like coming back and posting SOMEthing.... yeah. SOMETHING!

Yesterday I suddenly felt like searching for Zetsu art.
yeah, Zetsu, you know, that naruto plant dude from the akatsuki. I think I like him because of the fact hes a cannibal. ._." Knock me on the head please.

Im going to go to australia and new zealand for my holiday at the end of this week. Im excited because Ive never been overseas ever since I came to Malaysia since I was four years old... yeah...

I find it so sad sometimes observing that so many human beings rely on such pitiful objects or stuff in their life. Its as if some of them cant live without makeup, or cant live without some other silly thing. Or that its worth crying for weeks over a piece of furniture. =/

Interesting personality/ intelligences test.

I went to http://www.mypersonality.info and took my personality test there. Its actually very accurate, its not just ANY personality test. Or maybe its just because i dont take tests like that alot.

Click to view my Personality Profile page

You can get ALOT of information on the different personalities. Apparently mine is the "Dreamer"

(more information)
http://www.mypersonality.info/personality-types/infp/

And my main intelligence is

Naturalist Intelligence
The Naturalist intelligence has to do with how we relate to our surroundings and where we fit into it. People with Naturalist intelligence have a sensitivity to and appreciation for nature. They are gifted at nurturing and growing things as well as the ability to care for and interact with animals. They can easily distinguish patterns in nature.

(and apparently this is true)

You guys should try the test, its interesting.

Humans-ignorant.

For a long time i have been thinking about the human race and what they do... I have researched a little.

Once they decide to do something they will do it even if it costs the earth. Humans are the only animals that deliberately destory their environment to build things for themselves. In fact, every second humans devastate a hectre of forsts, grasslands or swamps and every year, humans burn an area of rainforest the size of great britain.

Humans, as many of you already know, pollute the world. Every day humans dump about 26 billion tonnes of rubbish into the sea. And guess what? Many of them dont even CARE!!! They just dump rubbish without a worry thinking nothing will happen, you know why? Because they are too lazy to pick up their crud and simply put it into a rubbish bin. Whenever I see rubbish on the beach or in the forests where i camp sometimes, I curse SO heavilly under my breath or in my mind. I rarely use any vilgalarities at all... because I find it unnececery. But since it has become a common thing now.... FUCK those who are ignorant.

The earth, currently , is doomed. And guess what? when Humans find another planet like earth and manage to go there, THAT planet will be doomed too! And how are humans supposed to control their overpopulation!? When on earth do you think the govornment or kings or what shit will tell everyone to control reproducing!? Nothing we can do really... but I can be a very negative person at times. Maybe there IS hope. But i doubt.

And some people wonder WHY I dislike the human race eh? I care about the animals more than those , UGH, humans... such selfish creatures as they are. I mean, its natural for an animal to care about their own species, but do other animals destory the environment? Oh no... its balanced. Guess what unbalances everything? Human beings...

Although I say all this with such hate, dont think i dont have a soft spot. I feel a little embarrased admitting this but, i feel VERY angry when people behave badly towards other people too, or when they talk in class, or when some stupid primary studends use foul language when they dont even know what it means and think its COOL. And i still feel the need to help people in need or remind people who think their life is bad, to think about those whose life is worse.

Some Emo'ers think their life is the worst, and rant about how misunderstood they are... blah blah blah... SOME OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE ARE FACING WORSE SITUATIONS THAN YOU DARN IT! People can emo, and i do too sometimes... but never not thinking about others at the same time.I have a few emo friends, and i try to remind them about others rather than just themselves. People can change.

Well i guess thats the end of some of my random ranting... If i have offended anyone, i guess i apologise.

MapleStory Private server

I have , for the last couple of days, been searching for a good maplestory private server for fun because at the moment, maplesea is having some bad lag for non Singapore players. So yeah, ive been testing out all sorts of different servers, and I have so far settled into ChaosMS.

The character I made in there first is called Seth, my DragonStory movie character. Its quite interesting to use your own movie character, he is a Paladin. I never realised until now that paladins totally pawn. But in the Pserver, the heavenly hammer skill is not working. *sad face*

Currently Im level 165, and i played for 2 days on this server.

But the problem is , after downloading all sorts of rubbish, my computer has gone abit nuts. And I cant open MapleSEA now to greet all my friends T^T I click the maple icon and nothing happens. My fraps and printer programs are also screwed. Most likely Il have to fully reformat my stupid computer.
